I don't know how many times I've said that. But I'm not completely back. This is just a "I'm still alive post".

I'm waiting till I get my new DSLR before I come back full force so I can deliver quality posts with jaw dropping imagery. Okay, well, not jaw dropping. But you catch my drift... However my getting a new camera is proving to be a little more difficult than I had imagined. With new business ventures, the start of my official "Birkin fund", Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York travel planning, all eat up every paycheck I get. Not to mention the addiction I have to spending.

Worry you not! When I get back I'll have plenty of giveaways planned for my readers... if I still have any anymore. ):
JUST KIDDING. I know I still have some faithful readers that follow my nonsensical blogging.

Versace x H&M: UPDATE

I've always been one to think high fashion should never be attainable to the masses. It goes against everything it stands for. The whole point of high fashion, and the reason it's so damn expensive is because you're paying for quality and exclusivity. However, when you lessen something's quality, in order to be more affordable, the exclusivity goes down the shitter along with it.

My last post on the Versace and H&M line was out of pure biased opinion. Because, well, I love Versace. Now that the launch is a week away, I'm less than excited. I've been thinking, why would I pay $300 for a jacket guaranteed some other blogger and/or fashion obsessed teenybopper will have.
There's still one or two pieces I'll purchase, just for a token from the experience. But I won't splurge. Not worth ALL my money. Sorryboutit.

I'll admit it, I'm too lazy to post photos from the fashion show. With that being said, I'll just leave the show itself here. Enjoy.

The weekend of 101511 I was fortunate enough to participate in Bryan Hearns' most recent fashion show at the ACE Gallery in Los Angeles with my lovely FIDM schoolmates Julia, Reyna, Riccardo, and Victoria. Volunteering work for the designer, I was granted access to the show's behind the scenes...

The short amount of time I was engulfed in the LA fashion scene, I had a second of pure euphoria. I knew this is where I wanted to be. I know I've had this experience before, but this time was different. Even hanging out with LA girls at an after party was beyond influencing. LA really is the next city on my hit list. My goals to move soon have never been any more serious.

I normally don't buy into designer/fast-fashion collaborations. I'm one that thinks designer should never be affordable and if it is, the price isn't the only thing being cut. I.E material, craftsmanship and overall quality. However with Versace, they're sure to produce decent quality, one-of-a-kind, exclusive pieces for H&M that I wouldn't mind living in my wardrobe. I'm not just being biased(I think). Versace is known for over the top prints and precise cuts, I'm sure Donatella won't disappoint by translating those key elements towards the H&M collection.

It's been awhile

I know, I've been laggin' MAJOR on here. It sucks being a blogger with no DSLR. Hopefully I get a new Canon soon. I'm over Nikon's. (I'm currently using a regular point and shoot.)

Well a lot has changed since I last updated LA.. my hair grew out, got a new job, went from a #173 in MUFE HD to a #153... okay, that's somewhat irrelevant. ANYWAYS; yes, my prayers have come true! I have gotten my foot in the door of high end retail. Being a salesperson at Nordstrom may not seem much now, but when I get into assisting a designer I can tell them how much I learned working with higher end clientele and what their needs are in terms of style and function (or something along those lines). The merchandise discount doesn't hurt that much either; Christian Louboutin on my feet, McQueen on my back and Alexander Wang on my face! So excited! Actually, I should be saving for my Los Angeles move I've been postponing... but let's face it, I've been lusting over Louboutin's for way too long not to own a pair yet!

So I was watching videos of lovely little monsters(Gaga fans) who literally re-make her Noritaka Tatehana heelless boots. And some of the videos I watched were really impressive. No paper mache here, we're talking deconstructing pumps and adding massive wood blocks to creatively replicate the designer originals.

The video is actually how to replicate Gaga's Mugler boots, but just take out the decorative spheres and make it a bootie instead of a boot and you'll have yourself a bomb pair of Tatehana heeless shoes.

It's been a full week of summer and I haven't done jack shit. I've been partying(that's nothing new), eating, sleeping and glamming up. Then repeat. It's all I do! I'm so used to partying and going to school so at least there's one thing going on for me.
Maybe taking a summer off was a bad idea. Or maybe I should just put more effort into productivity as opposed to partying and Facebook! Speaking of which I will be deleting sooner than later because I need to start limiting my online presence. You will only hear from me through this blog, occasional Tumblr, and for more up-to-the-minute updates-twitter.

I know I'm late with this post, but I just wanted to rave about my favorite girl group of all time. Their most recent release, "Lonely" is an easy ballad, with soft acoustics yet hardcore fashion. At this point, it's obvious that they're sponsored by Balmain as they're always head-to-toe. I actually find this quite surprising seeing as though Balmain hardly ever sponsors celebrity... Anyways let's do a little run down of my favorites:

All the years living here in San Diego and I never set time aside to visit Balboa Park. We decided to visit the art museum because, well... we needed culture in our lives. And it was ~~free~~ educational. The European art was astounding. The attention to detail was impeccable and inspired me to look beyond the main picture and pay attention to little things. Not just with art but with life as well.

Other than art we walked around and explored the unexplored. Walking down the halls like the tourists we aren't.

Happy in the club with a bottle of red wine, stars in her eyes cuz we're having a good time. So happy I could die.

I'm truly happy of where I'm at right now. School in San Diego is coming to an end, summer is approaching before my big move to Los Angeles and I've been partying it up like there's no tomorrow. If I were to die this very instant, I know I'd be happy.

My goal to silver lavender hair is quite difficult to attain. Though my platinum lavender doesn't look so bad either. Oh well, I'm getting there! Slowly but surely.

PLEASE. Me having dark ass Asian hair is making my transition to platinum blonde nearly impossible. We're not going back to the rich gold blonde I once had, we're taking it a level higher this time. Constantly reinventing myself is part of my style. My hair is no different and anything "normal" just won't do. Anyways, until I'm able to slap on more chemicals to my beautiful head, I'm stuck with this golden-orangy-blonde-ish-ness. It makes me ill every time I look at it but I'd rather not have a hair follicle meltdown, so I'll wait. I make sure I rock the hell out of this orange hair though, that's for sure.

As for my outfit, it was another lazy day at school. AS YOU CAN TELL. Hmph. I was aiming for simple but not boring. I'm not used to "dressing down" so bare with me.

A Fragile Thing Called Life

By chance I ran into a friend I've known for awhile via the interweb. The second our eyes met we instantly clicked. We proceeded to officially introduce ourselves and made an immediate bond. Just like girlfriends. We briefly spoke before having to part, not without making plans to see each other again soon of course. Now knowing that "soon" won't be coming around sinks my heart. I could not imagine the first time meeting her would also be the last time I ever saw her...

There's a thin line between life and death. It's a shame we don't realize it until it hits close to home. We live and complain about the things lacking in our lives not knowing that what we have in front of us as well as the opportunity to find what we don't have could be taken away in an instant. Anything can happen at anytime, it's inevitable. As human beings we need to learn to set aside the petty shit and be grateful for once. For the sake that we're breathing, healthy and able to immerse ourselves in the beauty around us.

Now the real question is: if you were to leave this earth right now, would you be happy with the life you left behind?
No? Change that.

Life is strange. It has its sky highs and groundbreaking lows. Whether you're having a good time or crying in the corner, one things remains the same: it doesn't last forever. Always keep that in mind. Life also thinks it's funny to throw shit at you when you least expect it. NEW HAIR
NEW GENUINE LEATHER MOTORCYCLE JACKET

The beginning of the year we all knew I was rockin' some kind of red asian bowl hairstyle. I liked it, very vogue, very different to be mixed with my style. I'm a firm believer in constant change. Keeping the red hues but made my hair more shorter and versatile, I can play up different styles with this length.

And yes, I finally got my hands on a leather moto! I thrifted it from Buffalo Exchange and it was heaven sent. The fit, the length, everything! I can't wait to add hardware to it!

Technical vs. Creative

It's official, I know for sure I'm not made for the technical, mass production side of fashion. Actually, I been knowing that. I knew since day one my career is going to involve my creative juices one way or another. Being in this class makes me further realize that I don't want to be flat sketching all my life. However, I know this would be a key skill to have if I was interning somewhere and they happen to need someone who has a background in flat sketching. I never know, you never know. That's the thing about this industry, there's no set path. Unpredictable. Therefore you should sharpen the skills not only you're good at, but the one's you're not as well.

All my fashion colleagues out there, what are your strengths? Creative or technical?

So motorcycle gang is suing Alexander McQueen for “stealing” their Hells Angels winged death head that is trademarked and patented since 1948.

Boy I wasn’t expecting that! But in the end it’s ridiculous. Everyone knows that is what fashion is- everything gets knocked off by everyone with added twists and that’s how the fashion cycle works. Maybe Hells Angels just needs to get with the program.

Today is the day to visually show support to the LGBT community by doing something as simple as wearing a color. Purple, to be exact. Why purple? Who cares! It's the point you want to get across that matters...

Today I wore purple. Not in memory of those who committed suicide because 1. I honestly don’t know them and 2. They’re in a better place now.

It’s a tragedy they died the way they did, but I did it for the rest of us who are still alive. We continue to fight battles about our sexuality big and small. I wore purple today to show my support on the issues we face and to the younger generations to let them know that things will get better.

I for one am a proponent for being yourself. Whether you’re gay or straight, fashion forward or fashion awkward, let the world see you who you are and not give a shit about what they think because in the end, you only have yourself to make happy.

Shady LA and Hellz Bellz

Getting ready in the car after a long drive from San Diego isn't as easy as it seems. Carla and I arrived at the LA Productions Studio 20 minutes early, in which we spent getting ready since we left home around 9AM. Who does that? I normally don't even wake up till 2pm! Not to mention I was clubbing the night before IN LA so boy was I not in the mood to doll up all over again. Turns out we weren't that much oriented. I mean we walked in, initialed some papers and got a brief walkthrough of the venue. Then we were released. So yeah, WE GOT CRAZY READY CRAZY FAST FOR NOTHING.

The rest of the day we had LA to ourselves and time to kill. We went to the dirt dirt poor ghettos of the fashion district to the filthy rich of Beverly Hills. Navigating is so difficult for us, even though we have lucite clear directions and maps on our blackberries. I don't know how we did it.

After shopping, photo shooting, bullshitting and eating, it was time for "It's a Pop up" a fashion streetwear event where underground DIY artists and brands came together to kickoff Los Angeles Fashion Week. There I met Lanie Alabanza-Barcena-designer and creative director of one of my favorite streetwear labels Hellz Bellz.

Lanie was uber inspirational showing that anything's possible if you're up for the chase. It's crazy to think she grew up in my same neighborhood and graduated from the same High School from me! (Crazy, I know-I barely found out as I was chitty chatting with her) Goes to show that great things has come from Morse, and another one is coming up!

I know I'm a bit late with this but whatever. I recently found out that with my favorite k-pop girl group 2NE1's new comeback also came with new stylists.

Ever since they entered the scene, they were known for their cutesy look with tomboyish style. Initially, their stylists Yang Seung Ho and Lee Hyun Jung started off dressing them with some of their clothes due to there low budgets in the beginning of 2NE1's career. This question got me thinking, is spending $350 on boots worth the buy even if the majority of people who see them don't know what they are? You can purchase plain white Dior tee and no one would ever know it's Dior. So what's the point? Some people purchase designer goods with large logos to flaunt the money they are capable of spending and others purchase designer goods because of the unique-ness and the fact that they are one of a kind. But there is boundary of being proud of what you purchase and showing off. I personally could care less if people knew my clothes costs more than their utility bill. I know the clothes I wear look good on me and work with my look, that within itself is priceless.

So I read the book Alexander McQueen Genius of a Generation and teared up. Reading his biography was a revelation for me, he started off as a young boy drawing Cinderella in elaborate ballgowns on his sibling's bedroom wall, grew up without the approval of his sexuality by his parents, and was ridiculed for his creativity. All which I have experienced myself.

The fact that Lee was different and didn't care of anyone's opinion is very admirable and when I think of McQueen, I see my reflection. Even the first line of the book was "his was the kind that only comes around once in a generation" and I believe with his passing, will come a new visionary, a new unique outlandish fashion leader with daring creativity and outrageous taste. No one can lead the McQueen house like I can. I am the new genius of this generation.

These boots have been raved by so many and featured on fashionistas across the globe, and now, I was able to cop the coveted. There was a gap in time from their first release when they were out of stock everywhere, until Sam Edelman re-released it. Now, they are carried amongst various online shoe retailers such as Zappos, Endless, and Solestruck- however, those stores did not carry my size. Although I found that Nordstrom carried my size, they were charging $350 for the Sam Eddy's when the other stores only charge $200. Knowing the absolute rarity and uniqueness of this boot, I bought it anyways.

I for one am one of those people who have been blogging about the Zoe since its release and I'm proud to say I am finally a proud owner. For those who don't know, the Sam Edelman are a replica version of the Balenciaga fall 2006 Harness boot that has been made popular by the Olsen twins. At $2,000 for Balenciaga's and a total inch higher than my Zoe's I think I'll stick with my Sam Edelman's. FEAST YOUR EYES.

My second time this year i've been at Lips. This time for Ashley P's bday. We wanted a new drag experience, so we went on a Wednesday for bitchy bingo. We've always gone there on Friday's for glamour night, so going for another Friday was a no no. I tried a new dish as well, I normally get the Alfredo but decided to get the Chicken. It was good too. We were expecting bingo the whole night but was surprised when there were hours of performances before the bingo began! Not to mention the bingo was only a half an hour long! It was a sure way to spice up our hump day.

Believe it or not my trip to LA this weekend wasn’t for clubbing at all!

It was mostly spent exploring different boutiques, pastry shops, and restaurants.
We initially went to Pasadena for some business then had leisure time for LA. First we went to this cute cupcake shop called Dots, went shopping at little boutiques from Pasadena to LA. There were one of a kind things that I liked but I wasn’t in the mood for clothes. I knew I wanted a new handbag and that’s that. We then went to West Hollywood where I picked up my first BALENCIAGA 2009 City Bag!!! Sure, that was my only purchase of the day, but whatever, it was worth it… it’s BALENCIAGA for god’s sake. After shopping on Melrose we had dinner at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Yeah yeah, you might expect I would rather to go to Geisha House or Mr. Chows but i’ve been there numerous times and this trip was all about “esssplooooring!” remember? haha and i’ve never been to Roscoe’s so why the fuck not, right? Picked up some Volcano tea and BAM home we went.

As my phone vibrates receiving a forward text from one of my fashion fanatic friends, I was notified in horror to the fact that Alexander McQueen died this morning. I literally started crying bananas. I look up to McQueen like I look up to god. His magnificent creativity and cut throat creations always managed to keep me on the edge of my seat. This huge loss in the fashion industry has left me speechless. Your physical presence may be gone but your legacy will live on. One question still remains; who will be the one to continue to design under the McQueen dynasty, and can they live up to what Alexander left behind?

This was my first official night clubbing with my real alias. Meaning the first time clubbing with my name, and the first time I clubbed with my playsister LisaDarling since that bitch doesn't do anything illegal. But now-since she's 18, she's down. I went with Lisa's brother and sisters and their friends and had a blast. We had our own VIP section closed off by velvet ropes. I could not handle being with everyone else, from the times I stepped out to try and find a cutie to bring into VIP area with me, being pushed by people who don't know how to dance or what they're doing, smelling the stench of peoples expired fragrances, to getting my Dior Homme patent leathers stepped on, I realized-this is why I only do VIP. I also got kicked out for stepping foot in the women's rest room, which was unbelievable, I needed to use someone's brush-sue me. My first official time clubbing and I get kicked out. I was handed my blackberry-where I contacted connections, throwing a hissy fit... NOT PRETTY. Luckily Dyna was there to help me handle the situation, and after awhile they realized they couldn't keep me from partying so they let me back in. All in all I had a good time, unlimited(non alcoholic) drinks-_____- but it's fine I drank before I got there. I might drop by a few more times in the future.

I started my birthday celebration this weekend at Lips, a well known drag bar and restaurant here in San Diego. It comes full packed with italian food and outrageous performances. I celebrated my birthday here last year, so it made sense to do it again this year. I saw my dragmommy Gina again and was served by this mighty fine waiter. I had a blast- great way to kickoff my birthday week.
